Didn't receive sign-up confirmation email
The most common reason for not seeing a confirmation email is that it has been incorrectly tagged as spam by your mail program and sent to your junk mail file. To find the mail, just check in your junk mail folder.

Multi drag and drop doesn't work
Multi drag and drop requires an Active X Control. Accept the installation of the drag and drop control to use this feature.

How do I limit my search to a specific member or channel?
There are several ways to combine search to find media in a particular channel or that belongs to a specific user - you just have to be sure that you're using the correct form of search.
Because so many attributes can be searched, you need to tell search what attribute you're looking for. Examples:
"owner:jim" will return everything owned by user "jim"
"owner:jim dog" will return all media with tag word "dog" owned by "jim"
"channelname:sally.animals dog" will return all media keyworded "dog" in user sally's
channel called "animals"

Viewing/Listening
Video won't play
Not all video file types will display in the player. To view some video files, a different player needs to be installed on the viewer's computer. We are constantly working to add more file types to the list of videos that play in-place on Ovi.

Trouble registering a podcast
- Launch iTunes.
- In the left navigation column, under iTunes Store, click on the Podcasts link to go to the Podcasts page.
- In the left column of the Podcasts page, in the Learn More box at the bottom, click on the Submit a Podcast link.
- Follow the instructions on the Submit a Podcast page.
When submitting a Podcast, use the Podcast feed rather than the RSS feed.
Incorrect: share.ovi.com/feeds/rss/channel/memberID.PodcastName
Correct: share.ovi.com/feeds/podcast/channel/memberID.PodcastName
Sharing with non-members prompts for sign-up
Share on Ovi does not require sign up for the people you share with to view or contribute to your public and private channels. Share on Ovi does require cookies in order to get access to the private information including private channels and private media. Instruct the non-member to accept cookies and they will gain access to your shared media.
Note: Non-member participants can contribute (upload via the web or email) without needing to sign up. However, a person does need to sign up to add comments.
Can't send emails with links
We have a system in place to identify outgoing emails that bounce (misspelled email addresses or closed accounts are the most likely culprits) and disable them from receiving future emails.
Please use an alternate address to send emails and share links.
Embedded slide show plays in wrong order
If you add a slideshow to a web site, blog, etc., the slide shows play in a default order of date posted (newest first). To reorder the media, follow these instructions:
Add a
&sort=x command to the snippet
sort=1 is date added (newest first)
sort=2 is date added (oldest first)
sort=3 is date created (newest first)
sort=4 is date created (oldest first)
sort=5 is custom sort (as sorted by the channel owner)
Example:

Auto-play embedded audio files
Want your audio files to auto-play on your web site? Just upload your favorite MP3 file to Share on Ovi, and add the following tag to the embed code:
&autoplay=true
